Penn Trafford Area Recreation Commission (PTARC) was formed through an intergovernmental agreement
between the boroughs of Manor, Penn & Trafford, the Township Of Penn & the Penn Trafford School District.
The Rec Dept became functional in October of 2001 with the hiring of a full time recreation director. The mission of PTARC states "The Penn Trafford Area Rec Dept is a nonprofit, intergovernmental organization providing residents of the Penn Trafford School District with the opportunity for life-long learning, fitness & fun through the implementation of wholesome, affordable recreational activities & development of safe, appealing facilities." The Rec Dept is currently located in the Penn Township Municipal Building, Box 452, 2001 Municipal Court, Harrison City, PA 15636. Office hours are Mon-Fri 8am - 4:30 pm. Ms. Cheryl Kemerer is the recreation director. Ms. Linda Bires is the program assistant. 724-744-2171 ext 205.
