The Penn Township Business Association, working in conjunction with the community safety organizations such as the Penn Township police, ambulance and fire departments, will celebrate a night out together with the PT community to encourage all residents to participate in National Night Out (NNO). NNO encourages neighbors to enjoy a night out together for better police-community partnerships promoting a safer community. From 6-9 PM, you can also expect to browse through a street filled with many displays regarding everything from Police Dog Demos to Ambulance, Drug and Fire Displays along the PTBA's block party route.
WHERE: Our block party will start at Rt 130 and Walnut Street, at the red light, in downtown Harrison City, and continue up to Municipal. Free parking will be available at the Penn Trafford High School or the Municipal Building.
WHAT's PLANNED? It might be easier to ask what isn't planned!! It's an all ages event so you can bring your sweetheart to dance away the night or bring the whole family out to kick up some fun.
Ever heard of hoop dancing? The old hoola hoops of the past have joined forces with today's music. "Hula-gans" hooping troupe will be performing hoop dance, offering open hoop jams, and various hoop activies and contests. Even the possibility of a fire hoop dancing demo!! KIDS: Bring your hula hoops!!!!
Say you don't know how to dance??...Besides browsing the demos and exhibits, starting at 6 PM we will have entertainment by local dance troupes along with everything from street performers to clowns and children's balloon and tattoo artists! Bring a chair and enjoy being entertained by the different dance troupes until the streets are open to dance away the night! Bring a chair to enjoy the entertainment!
From 9-11, the Business Association takes over with DJ Gordon Slagle changing it up to a full blown dance party (We'll be playing whatever the crowd is wanting more of so don't think it will be too young or old for your tastes)!! If you are into Polkas, 80's, 90's or wanting more of Lady GaGa...you'll have it!! Even if you want to dig out those old jitterbug shoes, we will have the music for you!
GREAT FOOD & PRIZES TOO!! A 50/50 Raffle held that evening. We will also be selling great Steeler Game Raffle tickets that evening (compliments of Satira Associates, CPA. Steeler ticket winner picked on the last night of the Fall Festival! BIG Cash & other prizes will be awarded in a dance contest that evening! Food booths will be open and all funds raised will be used by the Penn Township Business Association for their community projects such as: Light Up Night, Annual Costume Parade and School Scholarships.

Weather Permitting (If it just sprinkles, we can change the name to "Dancing in the Rain")!!
