If you haven't stopped in since they've remodeled, you'll want to find out for yourself what Penn Township is talking about. I have friends that laugh about how often they are in the new store! After my first visit, I was very impressed & knew exactly why they visited so often. Personally I won't waste my time any more making potato salad when theirs is soooo much better! Calligaro's has all the basic grocery supplies to stock your shelves but that isn't what is making them a regular stop for busy Rt 130 traffic. Word has spread fast that they offer great meals also. Lunch choices include: huge, hot hurricane subs, hot ham, turkey & many other speciality sandwiches, along with homemade soups & fabulous salads. Dinners are a snap! With just a morning phone call your order can be ready when you want. Meat loaf, chicken parmigina, roast stuffed pork are just a few of the offerings. The breads are well known in our area as the freshest anywhere. Being on the run never means a quick junk food meal with Calligaro's in town. They always have plenty of pre-packed takeout containers that are all fresh & homemade that day. The Boar's Head deli meats & cheeses along with top notch, freshly prepared salads will WOW you! The potato & chicken salads are made fresh & YES...they taste like homemade! Locally it is nice to find specialty items like imported olive oils, vats of pickles & olives, & bulk spices. And who can resist leaving without grabbing one of the many desserts calling your name! Cannoli, cream puffs, pies, cakes & cookies will finish off your visit right.
